With this new version, blueKiwi brings content in document management systems (DMS) closer to being part of online conversations, thus simplifying the connection between its enterprise social software and document hosting platforms.
Version 10.5 includes a new connector that enables the integration of most existing DMS tools into blueKiwi’s social software solution. What’s more, for companies that do not yet have a DMS, this version includes basic document management, thus avoiding multiple purchases. Other new features include a completely redesigned and more accessible homepage, an improved search engine, a centralised video management system and an events calendar.

A new component that enables the coupling of conversations and documents
Thanks to the new bK Connect DMS connector, blueKiwi can now use content from the most frequently employed DMS’s such as Microsoft SharePoint, EMC Documentum and Alfresco. This simplifies the connection between the enterprise social software and popular document management platforms and enriches content with a conversational and thus contextual component, while maintaining security and traceability.
New, enhanced document management functions
Boasting new document management capability with a file manager format (also for wikidocs and bookmarks), version v10.5 offers a clear and easy path to navigate for content stored in folders and subfolders.
A new completely redesigned and more accessible homepage
With a new layout, the homepage will now group all replies to the same conversation in one place, enabling a quick review of the contributors and their comments.
A centralised video management system
blueKiwi has integrated a new reader to convert all the videos posted to its platform into a universal format, thereby making them viewable from any workstation, be it fixed or mobile.
An events calendar
The Events tab has been redesigned to create a real calendar with simplified invitation management functions, which users can easily synchronise with other personal agendas, such as Outlook or iCal.
A host of other improvements
Among these are an improved search and suggestion function, additional moderation options for space owners/community managers, integration of Google Docs, and interactive timelines of conversations about a given subject represented over time.
